We recently had two lovely dogs surrendered to our rescue. Leo is a 3 year old Yorkie who weighs 11.5 lbs. and his daughter, Millie is a 2 year old Black Yorkie/Poodle mix weighing 5.5 lbs. They are bonded and we hope to find an adopter who is willing to take both. They are currently being fostered in a home with 3 small dogs and they all get along well. They may not have been exposed to larger dogs as they did appear frightened when they encountered big dogs on their walk and at the groomers - Millie, more so than Leo. Leo is neutered and Millie is spayed. They are up-to-date with vetting. Both dogs are healthy. Millie’s ears sometimes get a little dry and sore and she may need Surolan drops occasionally. They are friendly with people, children, cats and other dogs and they have not shown any aggression. They love toys, playing and walking on leash. Leo sometimes picks up shoes and takes them to his bed. At night they sleep on their foster parents bed. They are fed twice daily - Royal Canin Adult canned food. A little chopped chicken or rice is added. They have good appetites and love Benny Bully treats. Car rides are not a problem. They sometimes ride in a crate or a dog bed with a seat belt. Both are quite comfortable with stairs. Millie and Leo appear to be housetrained and use puppy pads when indoors. Bearing in mind one of the fosters is a male, Leo has marked a bit. He’s been here a few weeks and while not 100%, it has subsided Millie and Leo are great little companions and would love a house with a backyard if possible. They are great company for each other and would make lovely pets.
