If you are familiar with southern cuisine, you are aware of the popular dish gumbo. It can be a comfort food on many levels. When you have a charming and sweet boy like our boy Gumbo you will find yourself falling for a new kind of gumbo with enriching rewards. Gumbo is a sweet soul. He is a nine-month-old Plott hound mix. He currently weighs around 45 pounds and will likely have room to grow a bit more. He is expected to remain a medium size dog of anywhere under 60 pounds when fully grown. Gumbo has a lot of heart and character. He easily makes friends with other dogs and children. With a heart full of love, Gumbo is a joy to be around. He will enjoy lots of time with his family and also time exploring, playing and resting. His dream is to live life to the fullest and enjoys every minute of love he receives. We cannot say we blame him. He has not been introduced to cats since coming into rescue. At this time, it is unknown how he will be with them. His is working on his house, crate and leash training. They are works in progress and so is Gumbo. With the assistance of his family, he will make it to the finish line with his skill set at the master level. Gumbo will blend in with a family that opens their heart to him. He will relish in the joys and comfort of family life. He is waiting on the other side of the door of opportunity. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Gumbo is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
