Bert is such a fluffy young man. Like all chinchillas he has the softest coat, although he really doesn't like you to touch it much. He is friendly, and will come to greet you and takes treats. He also will allow head scratches and pets. He isn't a fan of being held but loves to run around and explore. He lost his friend and he would love to find another male chinchilla to bond with (adopter will need to be able to provide the space and enclosures to do a proper introduction). He might be okay as a single as long as he got plenty of attention. He still has some weight to put on and is working on his coat (regular dust baths are a must). He does take a little time to warm up to new people but doesn't seem bothered by kids, dogs, or cats. Bert is only around 4 or 5 years old and chinchillas can live to be 20 years old, so he has plenty of life left in him.
