Meet Belle Basset This sweet 3-year-old female Basset Hound is ready to find a patient, loving family to call her own! Belle weighs about 35 lbs and has already started showing how eager she is to learn and settle into home life. Around 9 PM, Belle proudly walked herself right into her kennel and slept peacefully through the entire night like a champ! She’s still working on potty training, but there’s already great progress — Belle knows “go potty” and “outside” and consistently holds it until she goes outdoors. She is also VERY snack motivated, which makes training much easier. Belle is learning some basic manners, too. She tends to bark and jump for attention, but she responds well to redirection and genuinely wants to please. One thing Belle hasn’t mastered yet? Stairs! She’s still figuring those out and may need a little encouragement and patience while she learns. Belle appears to have a very low prey drive. When she met bunnies on her walk, she was more curious than anything and handled the encounter very calmly. She’s affectionate, playful, and has a low-to-moderate energy level. Belle enjoys short play sessions followed by long naps and relaxing near her people. She is non-reactive to other dogs and does not guard toys or food. Belle absolutely loves walks and taking in all the smells of the world around her. She also enjoys sitting by the window, watching the birds in the backyard from the lanai, and simply soaking in the day. ☀️ Belle is a sweet, lovable pup with lots of potential and a heart full of love.
