Foster or forever home wanted, meet Maui. Maui is why we have a "friends" division here at Labradors and Friends. We saw a plea from the shelter for a severely injured geriatric pug in need of immediate rescue. We jumped into action and got her to the vet as quickly as possible where they determined she needed surgery to close several large gapping wounds on her chest and legs. We have no idea what happened to her, but she is safe with us and recovering from surgery at the hospital at this time. Maui entered the shelter the first time in February of 2018. She had a prolapsed eye that required removal. It's unclear when she was adopted from her first stay at the shelter, but she was surrendered by her owner with wounds that present as if she was attacked by another animal. Maui was having honey wraps applied every couple of days to help the growth of healthy tissue for two weeks. Maui will stay at the vets for the wraps but will be looking for a foster or adopter after that time. We do not know anything about her at this time but will update her bio as she heals and we get the opportunity to know her. If you are interested in getting to know more about Maui, please head over to labradorsandfriends.org and fill out an application. Maui is located in Southern California.
