Meet Wellington!Wellington recently enjoyed a Pups & PJs sleepover, and his volunteer hosts had nothing but wonderful things to say about him!According to his Pups & PJs volunteers, Wellington is a sweet, gentle, and surprisingly relaxed 3-year-old who quickly begins to show his affectionate side once he feels comfortable. While he isn't the type to climb into your lap right away, he loves being close to his people and often chooses a spot nearby where he can keep an eye on everything you're doing.During his overnight adventure, Wellington visited local breweries, coffee shops, parks, and pet stores. His volunteers described him as calm, well-mannered, and easygoing in public settings. He walked nicely on leash, enjoyed meeting new people, and handled busy environments with ease.Wellington especially seemed to bond with women and appeared more reserved around men. His volunteers noted that he was always polite and non-aggressive, but may need a little extra time and patience to build trust with male family members. Once he felt comfortable, his loving personality began to shine, and he became eager to spend time with his person.Wellington also met children during his outing. He accepted treats gently and enjoyed attention, but after repeated interactions, he chose to retreat to a quiet space when he needed a break. Because of this, his volunteers believe he would thrive best with older children who can understand and respect a dog's boundaries.One of Wellington's most endearing qualities is how excited he gets to see his people. Even after short separations, he greeted his volunteer with happy whines, a wiggly body, and plenty of enthusiasm.His Pups & PJs volunteers summed him up perfectly: Wellington is a handsome, loving, and incredibly sweet dog who simply needs a little time to feel safe. Give him patience, kindness, and a comfortable place to call home, and you'll be rewarded with a loyal companion whose personality blossoms more every day.
