Oscar is a gentle older German Shepherd with the sweetest soul and the kindest eyes. After being rescued from a heartbreaking situation, this shy boy has slowly started learning what safety, comfort, and love truly feel like. Once Oscar trusts you, he becomes incredibly affectionate and eager to please, always staying close by your side with quiet devotion. Oscar is leash trained, rides wonderfully in the car, and has very nice manners overall. He is intelligent, obedient, and even-tempered, making him an easy companion to have around the home. While he can initially be timid in new situations, his calm and gentle personality shines through more each day as he gains confidence. Oscar would do best in a low-stress, patient home where he can continue to feel safe and loved during his heartworm treatment and recovery. He gets along well with other dogs and even seems to do fine around cats. All Oscar truly wants is a soft bed, a peaceful home, and someone willing to give him the second chance he so deserves. In return, he will give endless loyalty and quiet love.
