Some cats arrive with a story written all over them. Rhody Isle keeps hers mostly to herself. This beautiful 7-year-old black and white lady came to us after being surrendered to our local shelter. When the shelter asked if we could help, the answer was an easy yes. We don't know how Rhody lost her leg, but there's one thing we're certain of: nobody bothered to tell Rhody she's a tripod. She navigates life with confidence, curiosity, and absolutely no interest in feeling sorry for herself. Stairs? Fine. Exploring? Fine. Getting where she wants to go? Also fine. Rhody has places to be and important business to attend to. Her foster describes her as sweet, fearless, and wonderfully non-confrontational. She's the kind of cat who would rather make friends than arguments. She enjoys the simple pleasures in life: a comfortable spot to nap, a loving human nearby, and plenty of head scratches. In fact, Rhody feels so strongly about head scratches that she will happily remind you when it's time to provide them. She's quite vocal when she has a request, and her favorite request is, "Excuse me, I believe my head should be scratched right now." Rhody would make an exceptional companion kitty. She's affectionate without being demanding, confident without being pushy, and has the kind of gentle presence that makes a house feel more like home. She's already proven she's resilient. Now she's looking for a forever family where she can spend her days being loved, pampered, and properly supplied with head scratches. Indoor only. Declawing prohibited by contract. Must be at least 21 to adopt.
