Some Mornings Begin with a Little Mist... Meet Misty. Some cats race into your heart. Misty quietly drifts in...and before you know it, you can't imagine life without her. Misty is a 3 year old tuxedo beauty with a gentle heart, a playful spirit, and a wonderfully loyal personality. Like a soft morning mist that slowly reveals something beautiful, Misty takes a little time to build trust—but once she does, you'll discover one of the sweetest companions you could ever hope for. When Misty first arrived in her foster home, she wasn't quite sure what to think. She happily greeted her foster family, asked for pets, and enjoyed their company, but she also made it clear that she preferred to set the pace. Being picked up? That would require a little more trust. Her foster family respected her boundaries, gave her the time she needed, and something wonderful happened. Little by little... Day by day... The walls came down. Today, Misty happily allows herself to be picked up, seeks out affection, and has become a chatty little companion who isn't shy about letting everyone know she'd appreciate a few extra pets. In fact, one of her favorite hobbies is calling out as her people walk by, just in case someone has forgotten that she deserves another round of attention. (It's a very effective system.) Her foster family has completely fallen for her and shared this update: "When Misty first arrived, she was a little hesitant about us. She would greet us and ask for pets, but she would quickly set her boundaries if we tried picking her up. However, we have gained her trust, and she's been very good with being picked up now. She loves attention and will call out to us as we're walking by. She loves her scratcher and toys." Watching Misty blossom has been one of the greatest joys of fostering her. She reminds us that trust isn't something that's demanded. It's something that's earned. And once you've earned hers, she'll reward you with loyalty, affection, and companionship that feels incredibly special. Misty also knows how to have fun. A favorite toy? She's ready. A scratching post? Even better. She happily entertains herself, enjoys playtime, and then settles down for a well-earned nap before beginning the whole routine again. It's a pretty wonderful balance. We aren't exactly sure how Misty feels about every cat she meets, but based on her easygoing personality, we believe she could do well with another friendly cat if introductions are handled slowly and thoughtfully. Mostly, though, Misty is looking for a family that understands something important: The very best relationships sometimes take a little time. The first day, she'll be politely getting to know you. A few days later, she'll be greeting you at the door. Before long, she'll be chatting with you every time you walk through the room, reminding you that she would very much appreciate another head scratch. And one day you'll suddenly realize... She isn't just your cat anymore. She's your little shadow. Imagine ending each day with a tuxedo-clad companion curled beside you after following you from room to room, making sure you never feel alone. Imagine smiling every time you hear her sweet little voice reminding you she's nearby. Imagine earning the love of a cat who chooses to trust you completely. Some of life's most beautiful things appear slowly. Misty is one of them. Misty has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped.
