I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:12 Paulo is a sweet, affectionate young pittie mix who thrives on human connection and loves being close to his people. He can start out a bit unsure, but quickly warms up with a soft approach, gentle handling, and treats. Once comfortable, he becomes very cuddly and seeks out lap time, pets, and reassurance. He knows “sit,” is highly treat-motivated (especially for high-value rewards), and enjoys training games like touch and find-it. Paulo walks well on leash overall and checks in frequently with his handler, though he can get excited and jumpy when overstimulated or when greeting people. In play and handling, he has shown himself to be very affectionate, social with people, and eager for attention. He does best with calm, consistent guidance and continued basic training. Paulo will thrive in a home that can give him structure, patience, and plenty of affection—ideally with adopters comfortable managing a strong, enthusiastic, people-loving dog.
