This is a courtesy post, these guinea pigs are not with Delaware Pet Rescue. Their current owner asked for help finding them a new home. They are both sweet girls. Curious. Vocal at times, especially feeding time. I have a little "bugle call" I chant when it's treat time and they both start wheeking and standing on their hind legs to get their treats! They will be shy at first because I haven't handled them much, and guinea pigs in general don't like people they don't know, but they very quickly learn who they can trust and who is feeding them. They're very friendly with me and my husband. Pequena is the grey and white. She is four. Rosa is the red and white . She is three years old. Guinea pigs have wonderful personalities- they are gentle and we have yet to come across any who bite, and they keep a daytime schedule! They form close bonds with their people, similar to cats and dogs. Did you know they are able to recognize people based on scent, sound and sight?! These sweet animals make wonderful pets! If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - we do not do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the guinea pig's foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the guinea pig. You can pick your guinea pig up "curb side". Guinea pigs can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. * DPR guinea pigs receive a vet check up prior to adoption! We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
