Roky is a large Malamute mix who is currently an appointment-only dog due to his sensitivity and need for careful, structured handling. He can be wary and may growl or show discomfort when stressed or when he feels pressured, especially around handling or leash pressure, so he does best with slow, predictable interactions and clear boundaries. Once he feels safe, Roky shows a much softer side. He enjoys gentle attention, will approach for pets, and has been observed leaning in for contact and seeking reassurance from trusted handlers. He is also active and enjoys time to decompress in open spaces, where he will sniff, explore, and move at his own pace. He has shown mixed behavior around resources, including possible guarding tendencies, so he will need experienced, breed-savvy adopters comfortable with managing structure and boundaries around food and high-value items. Because of his size, strength, and sensitivity, he is best suited for a calm, adult-only home with adopters experienced with large northern breeds and confident handling.
