About

Animal Information: Cookie is a tiny 3-year-old Chihuahua who came to the shelter as a stray. When we first put in our request to rescue her, an elderly person had already scooped her up to adopt, but Cookie was understandably very frightened and overwhelmed. On her first day at the home, she slipped out the door and ran off, though thankfully she returned and was safely brought back to the shelter. She simply wasn’t given the time and space she needed to decompress, feel safe, and begin building trust. We’re incredibly grateful to now be able to offer Cookie a secure, patient environment where she can finally settle in at her own pace and start to blossom. Foster Profile: Are you looking for a best friend who thinks you're the most wonderful person in the entire universe? Look no further than Cookie! This velcro dog would love to shower you with love! Cookie is a young, playful, energetic and an utterly devoted pooch who adores cuddling in your lap, curling up next to you on the couch, hanging out wherever you are and snuggling under the covers should you so choose. She'll be thrilled to see you when you come home and she'll make sure you know that you're her favorite part of the world. She loves being held and especially loves snuggles! She also loves to play and enjoys going on walks. Cookie is a little anxious though so she'll need a family who understands that she can be nervous at times. She wants you to take the lead, and give her love and praise. She’s nearly house-trained and prefers doing her business in the yard rather than on walks. Cookie is looking for a single family residence vs an apartment. She's crate trained and easily sleeps in her crate at night and when you're gone. Cookie gets along with all other dogs and has zero interest in cats. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian.
