Cher #4 | 2 year old Chi Mix | Tiny cuddle bug with a big personality Cher is a 10-pound sweetheart with soulful eyes, a gentle nature, and a hilarious little personality that keeps her foster family smiling. After losing a litter of puppies before coming into rescue, she understandably arrived shy and heartbroken, but she has blossomed beautifully in foster care and has shown herself to be one of the sweetest dogs her foster has ever met. Cher is happiest curled up next to her person, preferably under a blanket, snuggled against you on the couch, or draped around your shoulders like the world’s cutest scarf. She loves soft blankets, sunbathing, playing fetch with tiny tennis balls, and chewing on her Kong ring. She is food motivated, eager to learn, and already knows “come,” “sit,” and “no.” She walks wonderfully on leash with no pulling and enjoys shorter strolls followed by plenty of couch time. She gets along well with small dogs, has done great with cats, and would likely enjoy having a calm canine companion to help continue building her confidence. That said, if her person is home often and willing to shower her with love and reassurance, she would also be happy as the center of attention. Cher is submissive, sensitive, and easily startled, so she would do best in a quieter adult home or one with very calm, gentle children. Fast movements and loud or clumsy behavior can make her nervous. Cher is making good progress with potty training. She does well using potty pads and also potties outside on walks when given encouragement and praise. She can be left home alone for several hours and settles nicely after a little initial barking or whining. She is not currently crate trained, but she respects gates and boundaries in the home very well. One important thing to know about Cher is that she is tiny and can slip through small spaces or bolt if frightened, so secure doors, fences, and careful supervision are very important. She is still gaining confidence in new situations but learns quickly once she realizes she is safe. Cher is looking for a patient, loving home where she can continue building confidence, soaking up affection, and living the cozy princess life she was clearly meant for. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth.
