Hooper is a 13-year-old smooth red miniature dachshund weighing 11 lbs, and he is exactly the kind of dog who makes a house feel like home. Hooper came to Little Paws following a divorce and is ready for the next chapter. He's funny and quirky in that distinctly dachshund way, utterly easygoing at his core, and more than ready to find a quiet, loving place to settle in. Environment Hooper is a low-key, contented soul. He loves his walks and prefers having a fenced yard to explore at his own pace. His crate is a happy place for him, and he's perfectly comfortable being left to his own devices for stretches of time. He is chatty, especially when greeting people, so a home without shared walls is the right fit. He travels quietly in the car with no radius restrictions. Pets & People Hooper is great with everyone: friendly with strangers once the initial greeting announcement has been made, relaxed and easy with all other dogs, and completely unfussy around food and treats. He can be adopted with foster-mate Hannah, otherwise he would need a doggo buddy or two or three at home. He's a senior dog in the best sense: settled, good-natured, and ready to be someone's loyal, low-drama companion for whatever comes next. Location Hooper is available for adoption from Haverhill, MA. He is currently being fostered alongside Hannah, a nine-year-old female dachshund, and the two get along well and will snuggle together. They would be happy to go to the same home. Please email fosternorth@littlepawsdr.org with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Hooper is $250.
