Name: Chippey Best Guess for Breed: Lab and Terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years, 2 months as of April 2026 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 37 lbs Gets Along With : Chippey has done well around other dogs, cats, and small kids. Chippey is Looking For: This lovely gray cutie is around 37 pounds of easygoing charm and ready to find a place to call her own. Chippey has a friendly nature that makes her a wonderful companion for all kinds of households. She gets along well with kids, cats, and other dogs, making her a great fit for a home that already has a full crew—or one that’s just getting started. Chippey enjoys spending time with her people, whether that’s joining you for a walk, relaxing nearby, or simply being part of your day-to-day routine. She has a sweet, adaptable personality and seems to settle in nicely wherever she goes. If you’re looking for a well-rounded pup who can blend right into family life and bring a steady, loving presence, Chippey might just be the perfect match for you. What My Foster Says About Me: She is a sweet, gentle girl who is still figuring out how to be a house dog, and she is making real progress with the right structure and patience. She learned sit, down, stay, come, paw, and “eyes” within her first week, which speaks to her intelligence. She performs sit, down, and paw consistently, and is actively working on the others. She is highly motivated by hot dogs and cheese specifically. She is extremely gentle — soft mouth, takes treats delicately, and prefers hard chew toys like Benebones and everlasting treats over plush or squeaky toys. She is extremely dog-social. Her entire demeanor transforms around other dogs — tail wags, relaxed, immediate zoomies. She is not yet familiar with fetch or tug but is engaged and curious. She warms up to people on her own timeline, but she genuinely does love people once she gets there. At a recent adoption event she was running up to strangers for pets and doing unprompted sits to solicit affection. She was especially wonderful with children. Heartworm information: Chippey is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Chippey has completed this activity restriction period. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.
