About

Hello, my name is Teddy, or as my foster mom calls me, Teddybear! I am a sweet, approximately 13-year-old male Yorkie mix. I weigh in at a whopping 10 pounds, so I’m a little guy. I do really well with other small-to-medium dogs, but large dogs and puppies that don’t understand the warning to back off are a little overwhelming for me. I’m looking for a perfect retirement home. My foster mom says I’m one of the easiest fosters she has ever had. I eat well, and she offers me wet food, but I like to go get in the kibble bowl and eat the kibble there. So small kibble would be great. I did have a drastic dental and only have 4 teeth in the upper front. Potty training: it was very apparent that I had never been taught to go potty outside, but I now prefer to go outside, I just don’t know how to tell you. I do--remember I’m a little old man and can't always control my bladder--have an accident inside during the day and sometimes in my kennel at night. I know what a potty pad is, so leaving one out I can go on would be nice. I have a slight vision issue in my left eye, but it doesn’t slow me down from exploring. I may have a slight issue with hearing as well, but I am a senior, and it kind of comes along with age. I do fairly well riding in a booster seat so I can check everything out. If there is food in the car, however, I will try to jump out of the seat to get to the food. I love to be able to look at people and see where I’m going. The good news is I am not a backseat driver and will never judge your driving abilities! I have now decided that, because my two foster sisters sleep on my foster mom’s bed, I need to be there as well. My foster mom got a third dog bed to let me sleep on so I can be comfortable. I do like sleeping at the bottom near foster mom's feet so hopefully that won’t cause you an issue. I think a home with older kids who have an understanding about senior dogs would be okay, but please, no little kids who might want to chase, as that would probably be scary for me. I will also be your velcro pup, as I think I need to always be with you. Foster mom thinks it's either me needing to be protective or hoping she is going to get food! If you are looking for an unassuming, mild-mannered, easygoing, but a tad bossy, little man to have as a roommate I would love for you to consider me.
