My name is Handsome. I’m about seven years old, and I’ve been through a lot, but I’m finally in a place where things are quiet and safe enough for me to figure myself out again. I came from a cruelty case, and for a long time I was dealing with a very large ear polyp that caused a lot of discomfort. That’s been removed now, and it feels like I’ve been given space to just be a cat again without that constant pressure. I also have FIV, but I’m not letting that define what I can or can’t do. I’ve still got plenty of energy for the things I enjoy, and I’m learning that life doesn’t have to be about just getting through it. I’m a bit chatty when I want attention, and I like to make my presence known. Head bunts are one of my favorite ways to say hello, and cheek rubs are very much appreciated. Food is also a strong motivator for me, especially wet food. I am very consistent about my enthusiasm for meals. Right now, I’m trying to find my place in a world that finally feels safe. I do best with gentle people who understand that I’m still settling into this new version of life, but I’ve already started enjoying it a lot more than the old one.
