Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Arya #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 72 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Arya | 2-Year-Old Chihuahua | Quiet Soul Learning to Trust Arya is a 2-year-old Chihuahua with a gentle heart and a shy personality that is slowly starting to blossom. Like her sister Vija, Arya came into foster care very scared and unsure of people. While she is still timid and takes time to feel safe, she has already started making progress with patience, consistency, and the support of the other dogs in her foster home. Arya enjoys the company of other dogs and takes a great deal of comfort and confidence from them, so she will need a home with another friendly, confident dog. She also gets along well with cats. While she is not required to be adopted with her sister Vija, the two girls do find comfort in each other and would happily share a home together. Because Arya is still so fearful, she is not yet comfortable going outside and is currently using pee pads while she continues building confidence. Leashes are also very scary for her, so her future adopter will need to be patient and willing to work with her slowly and gently as she learns the world is a safe place. Despite her shy nature, Arya is a sweet and easygoing little dog who is beginning to enjoy affection and human companionship on her own terms. She would do best in a calm, patient home with older children or adults who will allow her to settle in at her own pace. With time, love, and understanding, Arya is going to make an incredibly rewarding companion. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $400 . Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
