Name: Zena Best Guess for Breed: Retriever mix Best Guess for Age: 3.5 years as of February 2026 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 44 lbs Gets Along With : Other dogs! Zena has also lived with cats, but would probably do best in a home without them. We haven't seen them with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Zena is Looking For: Long sniffy walks, lots of playtime with new friends, and belly scritches galore! Zena is on the hunt for her forever family complete with treats for good behavior and a nice warm, safe home to call her own. What My Foster Says About Me: Y ou haven't truly lived until you've experienced a "Zena hug." Zena is an incredibly sweet, loving, and loyal companion looking for her forever home. She is a total lover! Zena can be a little shy when meeting strangers, but with some gentle pacing and time to approach on her own terms, her affectionate side shines. Zena prefers a calm, quiet life. Bustling cities, loud noises, and younger kids are a bit too overwhelming for her. She is currently thriving in a quiet suburban foster home! She loves other dogs! In fact, having a canine sibling helps her feel more confident when meeting new people. She is great at matching the energy levels of her doggy playmates. Zena will happily sleep in with you on the weekends, but she is always down for a long hike, a "sniffy walk," or a serious run (she can even keep up for 8 miles at a sub-7-minute pace!). She thoroughly enjoys cooling off in creeks during her runs and plays in her kiddy pool regularly. (Just don't tell her it's bath time—she prefers the natural scent!). Z ​ena has done great with potty training and crate training! ​ H ​er foster trusts to free-roam in the bedroom while gone, and at night, she likes to choose between her open crate and your bed. Food is life! She loves popsicles, frozen Kongs, and puzzle toys. Because she is so treat-motivated, she is very easy to train and already knows sit, down, paw, and spin. ​Ready for fun?
