02/22/26 14:52 MH Meet Montgomery — a gentle, thoughtful pup with a big heart waiting for the right person! Montgomery is a sweet and sensitive boy who may take a moment to warm up, but once he feels safe and trusts you, his true personality begins to shine. He's the kind of dog who doesn't rush into things — but when he chooses you, he chooses you for life. What makes Montgomery special: Cautious but curious: He may be shy or hesitant at first, especially around new people or when being leashed/unleashed, but offering a treat makes those moments much smoother. Thoughtful and observant: He might freeze, lean back, or hang back initially — that's his way of processing new situations. With patience, he relaxes and shows his sweeter side. Treat-motivated and willing: Once comfortable, Montgomery will take treats nicely and respond well to gentle encouragement. Dog-aware: He shows interest in other dogs and has enjoyed playing at the fence. Though he can seem unsure at first, he's calmer and more engaged when in a familiar yard or space.Good manners: He's easy to place back in his kennel and has tolerated handling well as he adjusts. What Montgomery is like emotionally: Montgomery isn't a boisterous jumper or a pushy snuggler — he's a thoughtful, sincere companion who bonds through trust and gentle interaction. He's not driven by toys yet, but he responds beautifully to patient guidance, praise, and positive reinforcement. His ideal home: A patient person or family who understands sensitive dogs, A calm environment where he can build confidence at his own pace, Consistent, gentle training with treats and praise, Slow, positive introductions to people and other dogs Montgomery is ready to show his warm, loyal heart to someone who will let him unfold his personality one gentle step at a time. If you're looking for a companion who will reward your patience with love and trust, Montgomery may be your perfect match. 06/21/26 10:13 What I did today: Montgomery enjoyed a 5-mile sniffari adventure today at Hellyer Park! He spent the day taking in plenty of exciting scents, soaking up the fresh air, and enjoying the sunshine on his face. Along the way, he had time to relax, roll around in the grass, and soak up tummy rubs and lots of back scratches from his human friends. He also showed off his excellent manners, remaining completely calmand unfazed as he strolled past groups of children, geese, dogs, and turkeys. What to know about this dog: • Loose leash walker – A perfect gentleman with zero pulling and constantly checking with his humans • A giant sweetheart who thinks he's a lap dog - He is incredibly sweet and highly cooperative with handling - perfectly comfortable having his ears and paws touched. • He may take a polite second to warm up to the leash, once he was leashed, he was ready to start his adventure • Unsure about the car at first and needed a minute to build up his bravery, but once we got moving, he settled right in -Following his walk, he hopped right into the car without a fuss, immediately settling down to rest comfortably Three words to describe me: Easygoing, Gentle, Swee
