We are accepting applications for Twinkie, so named by the shelter staff because of his resemblance to everyone's favorite sweet treat, could have received that name because he is such a sweet dog. This aproximately 3 year old is a happy fellow who won the hearts of the shelter staff when he was there as a flea covered stray. He was offered to rescue by the shelter, because of his treatable health conditions including non-contagious bacterial infections and heartworm. He has recovered from the bacterial infections, but he will continue to receive monthly medication for heartworm, with a follow-up heartworm antigen test in December 2026. Those can be carried out in his adoptive home. Medication and instructions will be provided. Twinkie loves being with people!
