Meet Debbie! If you’re looking for a dog whose favorite place is curled up beside you, Debbie may just be your perfect match. Debbie is one of the sweetest, most affectionate dogs you’ll ever meet. She absolutely lives for belly rubs, cuddles, and soaking up all the love you have to give. With her easygoing, low-maintenance personality, she’s simply happy to be part of the family. She is fully crate trained, settles quietly without whining, and has excellent house manners. Debbie has only had one accident in several months in foster care and is considered house trained when given regular opportunities to go outside. She can comfortably spend the workday resting in her crate and is always excited to greet you when you come home. Debbie absolutely adores children and has been wonderful with her foster family’s 3- and 7-year-old. She also loves meeting new people and greets visitors with a sweet, friendly personality that makes everyone fall in love with her. One of Debbie’s favorite things is snuggling. Whether she’s curled up on the couch beside you or asking for belly rubs, she simply wants to be close to her people. She also enjoys soft toys, treats, and already knows how to sit. She walks well on a leash, though she can be a little strong at times. Debbie has come a long way with other dogs. She has formed a great friendship with her foster brother, George, and enjoys playing with him. Because of her past, she can be nervous when meeting unfamiliar dogs and may be protective of food, so slow, structured introductions with a confident, experienced handler are important. While she could thrive as an only dog, she also has the potential to live successfully with the right canine companion if given patience and proper introductions.
