About

Meet Esmeralda Esmeralda—or "Ese," as her foster mom lovingly calls her—and her littermates were born in late August 2025. From the very beginning, life asked a lot of these little kittens. Born outdoors with fragile immune systems, they had to be incredibly tough to make it through those early weeks. Ese's cloudy eye is a small reminder of just how much she's overcome. As a tiny kitten, she battled a severe case of feline herpes (which is much more like a stubborn upper respiratory infection than the human condition of the same name) as well as entropion, a painful condition where the eyelashes curl inward and irritate the eye. Despite everything, she never lost her spark. Today, she can see from that eye, and it has continued to improve since entering foster care. It may always have a bit of cloudiness, but Ese doesn't seem to notice—and after spending even a few minutes with her, you'll hardly notice either. Ese is truly a little sweetheart. When she wants your attention, she greets you with the softest squeaks and coos. If you reach down to pet her, she'll immediately curl herself into a happy little ball, rolling and wriggling with delight as if being loved on is the greatest thing in the world. In fact, she gets so excited that she often starts the snuggle process before your hand even reaches her head. It's impossible not to smile when she does it. Like many cats, Ese values her independence, too. Once she's had her fill of affection, she'll simply hop up and wander off to one of her favorite cozy spots, content and happy. Although she's the sister of Enzo and Eli, the boys seem convinced that she's their mom. Ese takes the role in stride, patiently allowing them to seek comfort from her and gently teaching them when they've crossed the line during playtime. She loves racing through the house with her brothers, taking turns chasing and being chased. Every now and then she'll indulge in a spirited session with a kicker toy, but these days she's more of a relaxed young lady than a wild kitten. One of her favorite activities is simply watching the world go by from a window perch, keeping an eye on birds, squirrels, and whatever else nature has to offer. Ese currently lives with dogs, cats, and other kittens and gets along beautifully with everyone. While she could thrive as an only pet, she'd also enjoy having furry companions—and she'd be especially thrilled if one of her brothers could join her in her forever home. She hasn't spent much time around young children, but we expect she'd do well with respectful kids who understand that cats aren't stuffed animals and appreciate affection on feline terms. This sweet girl has come such a long way. Her foster family has worked hard to help strengthen her immune system, repair her entropion, and give her every opportunity to flourish. She's now fully ready for her next chapter. Now all that's missing is a family to call her own. Ese may not look exactly like every other cat, but that's part of what makes her special. Her resilience, gentle nature, and irresistible charm shine far brighter than a little cloudiness ever could. She's proof that beauty isn't about perfection—it's about heart. And Ese has plenty of that. Esmeralda is spayed , FeLV/FIV and heartworm negative, up to date on Rabies and Distemper vaccines, dewormed, flea/tick treated and Microchipped. Litterbox trained. Adoption fee is $150.00. If you adopt her with either of her brothers Enzo or Eli, as a bonded pair, the adoption fee is $200.
