As a survivor of FIP, he’s proof that resilience comes in a furry package. Huxley is a happy, playful, affectionate young cat who doesn’t let anything slow him down. He runs, plays, explores, and enjoys life just like any other cat. His favorite pastime? Eating wet food! If there’s a meal involved, Huxley is ready and waiting. Because of complications from his illness, Huxley cannot control his bladder or bowels. He’ll need an adopter who is willing to help manage his special needs. Huxley can wear diapers to help keep things tidy, but they need to be changed regularly to keep him clean and dry. He previously experienced a severe infection from diaper rash, so good hygiene is very important for his long-term health and comfort. Many caregivers find success using a combination of diapers, easy-to-clean flooring, a dog crate, or a dedicated small space. What Huxley needs in extra care, he more than makes up for in love. This sweet boy absolutely adores people. He wants to be part of everything you’re doing and never misses an opportunity to make a new friend. In fact, when he’s in his crate, he’ll reach his little paws through the bars just to greet anyone who walks by. He’s the kind of cat who melts into your lap, snuggles close, and reminds you every day how much he loves you. Huxley is looking for someone who can see beyond his special needs and recognize the incredible companion underneath. He’s not looking for perfection—just a person willing to give him a chance.
