Looking for the "unicorn" dog who loves everyone and everything? Meet Maggie, being fostered in Chesapeake, VA! This sweet, lovable girl is practically perfect in every way, and she is officially searching for her forever home. Why We Love Maggie: The Ultimate Social Butterfly: She gets along with other dogs, kids, AND cats! She’s currently living with a smaller foster brother and is incredibly gentle with him, even though she’s a big girl who doesn’t quite know her own size. Playtime Champion: Maggie’s absolute favorite things are playing fetch, chasing her own tail, and engaging in an epic game of tug-of-war (she is an awesome tugger!). She loves to run around a big yard and is just happy to be alive. Perfect House Manners: She is crate-trained and sleeps like a dream without making a fuss. Plus, she's already leashtrained and completely ignores other dogs on her walks—she’s just thrilled to be outside sniffing the roses! A Smart Cookie: Maggie already knows "sit" and "stay." In fact, when it’s dinnertime, she will patiently sit in her crate and "stay" while you prep her food, waiting for her cue ("OK to eat!") to dig in. Fun Fact: Maggie is a fast eater! She uses a puzzle bowl to help her slow down and savor her meals. Bath Time Note: She gets a little hyper during baths—she’s still learning to love the scrubs and bubbles, but she's a trooper! Quick Facts: Compatibility: Good with dogs, cats, and kids! She loves anyone she meets. Skills: Cratetrained, leashtrained, obedient, and does great in the car. Click here for more information Step 1: Please complete the adoption application in full; incomplete applications WILL NOT BE PROCESSED Step 2 : Our Lead Adoption Coordinator will contact you and confirm your application has been received (please use our Contact Us form if you have not gotten a response within 7 days) . Step 3: After you have received confirmation from our Lead Adoption Coordinator, your application will then be forwarded to communicate with one of our Adoption Coordinators. The Adoption Coordinator is your point of contact during the adoption process. Step 4: Once the Adoption Coordinator has finished processing your application, a volunteer will be selected to contact you to schedule a home visit. Home visits allow us to see where the dog will live, discuss any questions you have and review our adoption contract. Step 5: Once the application process is completed, the adoption package goes to the board of directors for a 24 hour review.
