About

Meet Tofu, a resilient little dog with a heart much bigger than her wrinkles. Tofu is completely blind, but don't tell her that. Once she learns her environment, she navigates confidently and settles into a routine with ease. She loves being near her people and is happiest when she's included in daily life. One of Tofu's favorite things is children. She has a gentle, affectionate personality and has done wonderfully with babies and kids. She also gets along with calm, respectful dogs who understand that she can't see their body language. Because of her prey drive and comfort level, Tofu is looking for a cat-free home. She is both house trained and potty pad trained, making her an easy addition to the right household. Tofu does not enjoy being crated and would do best with free roam of the home or a secure playpen area when left alone. Like many Shar-Peis, Tofu requires routine skin care to keep her comfortable. Her skin is currently doing well with regular maintenance, including medicated baths, and we are happy to discuss her care needs with approved adopters. While she may require continued management of her skin throughout her life, she doesn't let it slow her down. What Tofu is really looking for is someone willing to give her a chance. She doesn't need pity. She doesn't know she's different. She simply wants a family to love, a comfortable place to sleep, and someone who will appreciate the sweet, loyal companion she is.
