Update 06/19/26: Isabelle is now back in foster care through no fault of her own. She was adopted by a loving person in May 2025 to become the companion of an older cat who needed a new buddy. The adoption was a very successful one. Isabelle and her new brother bonded closely and Isabelle was making slow but steady progress with her new Mom. Sadly, the new Mom passed away very suddenly and Isabelle therefore returned to her Cat Shack foster home. Original post: People vacated an apartment, leaving outrageous filth and debris behind - and also 10 cats. Isabelle was one of those cats. Cute little Isabellel was very frightened and underweight at 5.6 pounds, but otherwise healthy. She was estimated by the vet to be just one year old at the time (December 2021). Since joining her Cat Shack foster home, Isabelle has settled in happily. She is still very shy and is not pettable, but she is a sweet cat who gets along well with all of her foster buddies. She is now a healthy, normal weight. She enjoys going off by herself at times to take cat naps in a cat bed or pile of laundry up on a shelf. Her foster mom can get close to her and Isabelle will even sniff her outreached fingers, but Isabelle will not yet allow herself to be touched. Isabelle deserves loving care from someone who understands her shyness and will allow her to progress at her own pace. A calm, quiet household with the opportunity for more individualized attention would be the ideal situation to help her blossom. Isabelle has always lived with multiple other cats so should definitely have a feline buddy or two. A young male cat named Vinny (shown in picture below) who was rescued from the same situation and is most likely her brother, would also be a perfect buddy for Isabelle. Please file an application if you would like to learn more about Isabelle. Her foster mom will be very happy to speak with you. Adopting from The Cat Shack The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA. The first step in adoption is to...
