Josie came to us as a very sick stray, and to be honest, she did not appreciate all the medicating that came with getting her healthy again. She held a grudge against the humans involved, and for a while she wasn’t the friendliest girl in the room. She wasn’t mean just wary, guarded, and very sure that we were not to be trusted. But Josie has spent the last six months quietly rewriting her own story. Somewhere along the way, she decided people aren’t so bad after all. Now she’s a lap cat, seeking out attention, choosing affection, and warming up to everyone around her. It’s been a slow, steady transformation, and watching her open up has been one of the most rewarding parts of her time here. Josie does have a bit of a chronic eye drip, which isn’t uncommon for cats who’ve spent time outdoors or in shelter environments. We expect it may improve once she’s in a stable, low‑stress home. She seems to do well with other cats and does fine around dogs, too. Josie is ready for a home that appreciates a cat with a past, a personality, and a whole lot of potential. She’s already done the hard work of learning to trust again — now she just needs someone to love.
