Adopt a Tortoiseshell in Arizona

Tortoiseshell cats — 'torties' — wear mottled black-and-orange coats and are famously full of personality, sometimes nicknamed 'tortitude.' They're a color pattern, not a breed, and like calicos are nearly always female. A rescued tortie brings sass, smarts, and affection.

Arizona's rescue cat population is substantial, particularly in Phoenix and Tucson where TNR programs work to reduce community cat numbers. Adoptable cats range from kittens to seniors and are abundant throughout the year.
